Client: “ESKOM”

Project Name: TMT Cluster (Tourism and Medical Tourism Cluster) Networking and Export
promotion project Ref. No. 03.2.1-LVPA-K-807-02-0029
Objective: To connect the cluster to international networks, increase the export of medical tourism
services of Lithuanian origin, and work on strengthening the trust of customers in the quality
services provided.
Services provided by Santaka DIH: A market analysis of international networks and business
development study was prepared identifying the potential export opportunities.
About the project: Lithuania is a country with geographical location, tourism resources, internal and
external transport logistics, world-class quality medical services, highly qualified medical doctors,
researchers and students, work culture, ethics and etc. but still does not use the export
opportunities for these services due to lack of awareness of the opportunities.
TMT Cluster aim is to enable offering a high level of tourism, health and wellness, a range of other
medical services and world – class quality services. The business cluster includes companies in the
field of accommodation and catering, innovative companies in the field of medicine providing high-
quality health care and treatment services, operating in the field of dentistry, implantology,
prosthetics, plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, laser dermatology and beauty therapy.
There are many reasons for cluster companies to limit their competitiveness: insufficiently known
and recognized in foreign markets, small resources do not allow for effective marketing, small
exports do not allow to achieve economies of scale, it is difficult to integrate into international
markets. After receiving the funding, the project would connect the cluster to international
networks, increase the export of medical tourism services of Lithuanian origin, and work on
strengthening the trust of customers in the quality services provided. Working together in a business
cluster will help companies forming a business cluster to increase exports, expand, and create more
jobs.

Client: UAB “Ferox Baltic”

Project Name: Staff development program Ref. No. 09.4.3-ESFA-K-827-03-0021
Objective: To develop skills of the staff in order to increase efficiency

About the project: The labor market and business needs are constantly changing. There is a lack of
quick response of educational institutions to the changing situation, they are less responsive to
business needs, even less responsive to the changing labour market, training programs take too long
to develop and change, graduates are prepared theoretically, graduates lack specific practical
knowledge.
It is difficult for companies to find competent employees who perform practical tasks in a timely
manner and are able to solve problems in practice. In order to train employees at their own
expense, it is often too expensive, so training is abandoned. As a result, both employees and
companies suffer, and their competitiveness in the labour market and business around them
decreases. The project aims to develop practical forms of training in the workplace, to provide
employees of companies with qualifications and competencies that meet the needs of the labour
market. Top-level managers or other professionals have a responsibility to provide employees with
competencies and qualifications that are directly related to the work being done. The qualifications
and competencies provided during the training will help employees to adapt to changing business
needs, remain competitive in the labor market, and allow companies that train them to adapt their
workforce to ever-changing business needs and advanced technologies as quickly as possible. The
target group of the project is employees of the companies participating in the project. Each company
participating in the project will provide training according to its business profile and the functions
performed by its employees.

Research and Experimental activities

Client: UAB “Projektai visiems”

Project: Intelligent bus fleet performance optimization system ref. no: 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856-01-0230
Objective: To develop a system that will fundamentally change the operation of the public, as well
as private, fleet
The value of the project indicated in the application: 1,484,299.65 Eur. Funding requested: EUR 1
135 475.84
Services provided by Santaka DIH: Research and experimental development consultancy.
Identification of research methods, development of research plan, review and analysis of market
articles. Planning of experimental development activities, prototype modelling.
About the project: The project aims to create an intelligent transport management and optimization
system (ITVOS) capable of forecasting passenger flows and selecting vehicle size, counting
passengers and planning the most optimal routes, recommending driving style and thus saving fuel
consumption with less pollution, intelligently managing advertising by showing only on certain
sections of the vehicle, to make recommendations for the replacement of the most uneconomical
vehicles, etc We will strive to manage and optimize the public transport sector in Lithuania. Every
year, all municipalities in Lithuania face the problem that public transport is operating at a loss. In
cooperation with the bus fleets of large and small cities, within the framework of this project, we will
develop a system that will fundamentally change the operation of the public, as well as private, fleet.

Client: MB Maisto architektai (company name changed to UAB “INNOFOODS”)

Project: Fermented beverage of vegetable origin. Ref. No: 01.2.1-MITA-T-852 Inostart
Objective: Fermented Herbal Beverage project, we plan to develop a prototype of oat origin using
enzymatic hydrolysis of starchy and non-starchy oligosaccharides to obtain flavored product
properties and natural sugars.
Project value indicated in the application: 32 666.31 Amount of funding requested: 22 866.42
Services provided by Santaka DIH: Business audit and analysis identifying possible business
development opportunities.
About the Project: Enrichment of the product is planned with various extractions of main and by-
product products of plant origin (including supercritical, water and other GRAS-recognized optimized
extractions, such as: quince leaf extract, sea buckthorn cake extract, flaxseed extract). In the stages
of product development, the encapsulation technology of lipophilic extracts and their distribution in
the aqueous medium are envisaged. This is applied by improving the development of a prototype
drink and evaluating its functionality.
Based on oats, we plan to create a plant drink made using enzymes of amylolytic origin: amylase,
glucoamylase, xinalase. This drink is likely to have the functional properties that the identified
bioactive compounds can provide. Amylolytic enzymes act specifically on polysaccharides during
hydrolysis. Glucoamylase breaks down lower-chain polysaccharides and releases glucose – fast
energy. Alpha-amylase is an endo-amylase that releases alpha- (1,4) -bonds in the internal starch
chain, resulting in the formation of dextrins of various chains. Xinalase degrades starch-free
compounds of various molecular sizes, which potentially release phenolic compounds
(avenandrehides, ferulic acid) with functional properties such as antioxidant properties and possibly
better gastrointestinal bioactivity.
Organoleptic properties of the product can also be altered by making modifications to the substrate-
enzyme ratio and using long-chain polysaccharides.
The project will be implemented by MB "Food Architects", an innovative start-up planning to
develop a new innovative product and carry out R&D activities.
